First United Methodist Church Plainview offers a Bereavement Support Group twice a year. The spring group meets the six weeks following Spring Break. The fall group meets the six weeks before the week of Thanksgiving. There will be six one-hour sessions March 24th and goes six weeks through April 28th. We meet at the First United Methodist Church Library 1001 West 7th Street, Plainview Support Group Leaders are Carole Bell and Donna Isaacson There is no charge for participation in the group.
This group is for anyone who has experienced a loss.The loss might be something other than loss due to a death.People grieve over the loss of relationships, health, jobs, security and identity in addition to the loss of a loved one to death.
This is a Bible-based approach to grief and recovery that includes information about the grieving process. There will be time for discussion.However, no one is required to talk if he/she would rather not.Some people learn and heal just by listening.
