Ceta Canyon Summer Camps

FUMC Kids and Youth have been attending One-Way Summer camp at Ceta Canyon for years. Located outside of Happy, Texas, Ceta Canyon offers campers a way to grow closer to God not only for the week, but for the rest of their lives. Check out the website:

Preschool Ministry

Starting at age 3, children are moved to a special Preschool Sunday School class and are also invited to attend Faith for Children on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30. We also offer Music Together Classes and Preschool Playgroup. For more information, call or email Alyssa at

The Nursery is open during every service and is run by Bruce and Sherri Derrick. The Derricks have been serving as nursery workers for several years and will love your kids as they love their own. The nursery at FUMC is compliant with the Safe Sanctuary Policy and welcomes children 3 and under.

Faith for Children

Faith for Children meets on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm at the Cross and Flame Family Life Center (601 Houston). Each week children discover truths about God's love and how they can share God's love by serving others. Children are broken into age groups and rotate between various stations. They play games, have snacks, do crafts, and various service projects weekly. FUMC Plainview believes kids are never too young to be a servant and share God's love. So, we focus on helping kids of all ages realize their gifts and how they can use them to spread God's love. Ages 3-5th grade are welcome.

Sunday School

Using Group's Faithweaver Curriculum, children are taught Biblical truths weekly. Broken into three classes, PreK-K, 1st-3rd, 4th-5th, children are able to dive into God's word and learn the Bible. The best part is that the parents are studying the same story as their children so they can talk about the lesson together as a family. Sunday School classrooms are located on the east, 2nd story hallway.

We believe children are influenced most by their parents or caregivers. Because of this belief, it is our philosophy to include the parents in every step of learning and discovery so together we can help your child grow in relationship with Christ. Each week parents receive lesson notes and thoughts so they can ask their kids what they learned and how they can apply it to their lives. So, check your emails or check out the Parent Blog for updates and information; be an active part of your child's walk with Christ.

We have a mission oriented VBS that allows our children and workers learn the holistic approach to missions.  This year our children will be making kits for flood victims to take to Annual Conference and be distributed by UMCOR to flood victims across Texas.  Come join us on June 8-10 from 5:30-7:30.
