Burch-Settoon Loan

Students who are graduates from a high school located on the of the following counties may apply for the Burch-Settoon Student Loan: Hale, Floyd, Lamb, Castro, Swisher and Briscoe.

Students must be enrolled or admitted to an approved college or university, be a U.S. citizen, and meet reasonable credit standards.

Undergraduates must take a minimum of 12 hours of course work per semester. Graduate students must take a minimum of 9 hours of course work semester.

No accrued interest will be computed or applied while the student is attending school and is satisfactorily completing all of the required loan obligations. Interst will begin after completion of the course work or if the student leaves school.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Contact Jane Autry at First United Methodist Church, Plainview for an application.
  • Fill out an application and submit it to Mrs. Autry prior to May 31, 2015.
  • Include all necessary information and attachments.
  • You must reapply prior to the beginning of each year if you are requesting a new loan.
  • Currently the maximum amount that will be loaned for one academic year is $7,500.
