Making disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation
of the world THROUGH MUSIC!
The musicians of Plainview
First United Methodist strive to Glorify God and Proclaim His Word through
MUSIC.
We minister to and through
those who serve in the FUMC Music Ministry as we help
lead worship throughout our church and community.

comments:
“The best part of
being in choir is being a part of a group that loves God, music, and one
another.”
“Being a part of the
choir gives me a sense of belonging and allows me to share God’s word. When
people say how much they enjoy our music, it makes all the time and effort we
put in worth it. I enjoy all parts of the things we do.”
“Music is the best
part of the service for me. It has always been a big part of my life. I love
the way it can move people and speak to their needs.”
“Watching the musicians grow and nurture each other is my
greatest joy – particularly strong are the relationships that are nurtured
between our adult choir members and the Wayland Baptist University student
musicians who are a part of our choir.”
"Singing in the church choir means to me sharing the joys of
worship through music, which gives peace and comfort to the soul. The
continuing music education is a thrilling challenge.”
“I formed habits
early for faithful choir practice on Wednesdays and Sunday school and
church on Sundays. My uncle sang in the choir in our church and I
couldn't wait to do the same. My family was always there in every
service. You could say I was born in the First United Methodist Church in
Plainview and I still continue to serve the choir. (Since 1946!).”
